About the project
Professional Doctorates are designed for professionals and practitioners who wish to engage in research that can make concrete transformations to their practice. This could be within, for example, an organisation, the work of a profession, or the practice of an individual. Professional Doctorates combine a structured taught approach with the development of research skills through a doctoral thesis. Students also often work in a cohort with other students in their year group.
The University offers the following Professional Doctorate programmes:
- Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)
- Doctor of Education (EdD)
- Doctor of Professional Studies (DProf) in Counselling and Psychotherapy Studies
- Doctor of Professional Studies (DProf) in Health and Social Care
- Doctor of Professional Studies (DProf) in Negotiated Management Specialism
- Doctor of Professional Studies (DProf) in Psychological Trauma
- Doctor of Professional Studies (DProf) in Theology and Religious Studies
