About the Project Immune decline is one of the defining problems of an ageing population. Elderly people have reduced responses to vaccines, failure of tumour surveillance and chronic inflammation, defined as low-grade immune activation (inflammaging). This immune decline drives multimorbidity and premature mortality.

About the Project Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a dismal disease with limited treatment options. Despite being the 11 th most frequent occurring cancer, PDAC is currently the 4 th leading cause of cancer-related deaths and is projected to be the 2 nd leading cause by 2030. ~ 80% of patients with PDAC are diagnosed with incurable locally advanced or metastatic disease and are offered palliative systemic chemotherapy treatment.

About the Project Chromatin structure regulates gene expression and underlies cell identity. Mutations in chromatin regulators are frequently observed in cancer, leading to alterations in chromatin structure, genomic interactions, and modifications. For example, changes in nuclear morphology and chromatin organisation are common diagnostic indicators of cancer.
