Mothering Under Adversity: Roma Mothers’ Experiences of Stress, Trauma and Help-Seeking

About the Project Roma mothers experience significant inequalities in mental health and access to support, shaped by discrimination, poverty, insecure housing, migration, social exclusion and previous encounters with health and social care. Yet Roma women remain markedly underrepresented in mental health research, particularly research examining complex or severe mental health difficulties, motherhood under adversity and help-seeking.
