About the Project This is a 3.5 year PhD project at KCL affiliated to the Faraday Institution SAFEBATT project, which is a major project increasing the fundamental understanding of the root causes of cell failure and the mechanisms of failure propagation, and utilising this improved knowledge of the science of safety to inform the design of safer batteries and battery systems, as well as informing standards and stakeholders such as regulatory bodies and first responders.

Wakes are particularly persistent offshore [2], and were recently shown to affect the heat exchange between sea and atmosphere, due to reduced convective heat transfer close to the sea surface [1].
