About the project

If you’re a 2025/2026 undergraduate student progressing to a 2026/2027 postgraduate degree (taught or research), you could be eligible for a Postgraduate Progression Scholarship.

What is the Postgraduate Progression Scholarship?

The Postgraduate Progression Scholarship offers a 15% reduction in tuition fees. It's available to Kingston University undergraduate students graduating in 2025/26, who progress to a postgraduate degree (taught or research) at Kingston University in the 2026/27 academic year.

This scholarship cannot be combined with any other alumni or loyalty discounts, including faculty or departmental discounts. However, it can be used alongside a Postgraduate Loan from the Student Loans Company, subject to eligibility.

To be eligible, you must

  • Have received an offer to study a postgraduate taught or research degree (e.g. MSc, MA, MRes, MPhil, or PhD) at Kingston University starting in 2026/27, full-time or part-time.
  • Have been awarded a Kingston University undergraduate degree in the 2025/26 academic year, including degrees awarded via partner institutions.

Additional Notes

  • PhD Students: Eligible for 15% off first year’s fees. A 10% alumni discount applies in subsequent years (subject to terms).
  • Architecture students: If progressing to MArch after a year in industry, you remain eligible for the 15% discount.

The 15% discount does not apply to the following courses

A 10% alumni discount may be available for students on these courses instead.

  • MMid / MSc Midwifery
  • PGCE
  • Post-qualifying Social Work (e.g. ASW, PG Cert, short courses)
  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Graduate Diploma Creative Practice
  • Distance learning programmes

How to apply

There is no need to apply separately. If you meet the eligibility criteria, the scholarship will be automatically applied as a credit note against your fees invoice.

The Kingston University Finance Team makes the final decision on discount eligibility.

Is the scholarship available for students who graduated from an undergraduate degree prior to 2025/2026?

Students returning from a break in study will not be entitled to the Progression Scholarship. The course must therefore be completed with no gaps in study to retain the discount.

Students wishing to defer starting their postgraduate course to 2027/28 or beyond will not be eligible for the scholarship (including unforeseen circumstances). However, they may still receive the standard 10% Alumni Discount when starting a programme at a later date.

How will the scholarship be applied to part-time students?

The 15% Scholarship will be applied to part-time students on a pro-rata basis.

How will the scholarship be applied when fees are paid by instalments?

Where fees are paid by instalment, the 15% Scholarship will be apportioned evenly across all of your instalments.

Will the scholarship apply to students enrolling after 2026/2027?

There is no guarantee that the 15% progression discount will be available for students enrolling for postgraduate programmes in subsequent years.

Additional information

Final decisions on eligibility will be determined by Finance Shared Services.
