Exploring who we are and where we’ve come from
Studying for a PhD or MPhil in History and Politics will take you on an intellectual journey to uncover the forces and structures underpinning today’s world.
You’ll produce a serious piece of research, making a real and lasting contribution to knowledge, whilst developing research, writing and presentational skills.
Our students study a wide range of periods and subjects, from the late-medieval to the contemporary, and across political, social, gender, religious and cultural history.
Chichester boasts several important archives and libraries, including the West Sussex Record Office, Chichester Cathedral Library, and Pallant House Library. Studying here, you’ll also be close to everything London has to offer, as well as the wider South Coast region.
You can browse our staff profiles below to find out more about our research interests and get in touch directly.
For more general enquiries, please contact our Research Degree Coordinator for History and Politics, Professor Andrew Chandler , at a.chandler@chi.ac.uk.
