About the project
About the Project Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most prevalent neurodevelopmental disorders, however the neural changes that underlie the disorder are poorly understood. Recent evidence suggests that some areas of the brain involved in sensory processing may underlie certain symptoms of ADHD when they function abnormally. The project we envisage will either use computerised tasks in humans or in vivo electrophysiology and possibly behavioural analysis pre-clinically to investigate the functional properties of relevant sensory systems in ADHD. Having a clearer idea of the changes in the brain that underlie the disorder will be an important step towards developing new treatments.
