About the project

About the Project This PhD project focuses on digital platforms, business ecosystems, and competitive advantage. Possible research directions include platform strategy, ecosystem orchestration, network effects, digital marketplaces, platform governance, technology-enabled scaling, and the international expansion of platform-based business models. The opportunity is particularly relevant for candidates working in technology firms, digital services, consulting, telecommunications, e-commerce, fintech, SaaS, venture building, or corporate innovation. Candidates may examine how platform organizations create value, manage partners, scale internationally, and respond to regulatory or competitive pressures. Research may involve case studies, comparative platform analysis, executive interviews, or mixed methods. Projects examining platform strategies in emerging markets or cross-border digital ecosystems are especially welcome. Tuition and scholarships This is a self-funded doctoral research opportunity. The total tuition fee for the Franklin Hudson PhD program is €78,250 . Partial merit-based scholarships may be awarded to strong candidates, up to 30% maximum of tuition. Payment plans are available.
