About the project

About the Project The rapid growth of AI, cloud computing, and data-intensive business models is increasing the environmental footprint of digital infrastructure. Energy use, water consumption, hardware lifecycle management, and community pressure around data centers are becoming strategic business issues. This DBA research opportunity focuses on the design of sustainable and circular IT strategies for organizations operating or relying on large-scale digital infrastructure. Possible research directions include green computing, AI infrastructure sustainability, water stewardship in data centers, circular hardware models, software efficiency, and environmental reporting for digital operations. This opportunity is particularly relevant for experienced professionals in cloud services, data centers, enterprise IT, technology strategy, sustainability, operations, or digital transformation. Candidates may design a digital footprint optimizer, sustainable IT lifecycle model, or strategic framework for reducing the environmental impact of computing. The expected contribution is a practical artefact that helps organizations align digital growth with environmental responsibility, operational resilience, and long-term stakeholder trust. Tuition and scholarships This is a self-funded doctoral research opportunity. The total tuition fee for the Franklin Hudson DBA program is €62,600 . Partial merit-based scholarships may be awarded to strong candidates, up to 30% maximum of tuition. Payment plans are available.
