About the project

About the Project This PhD research project focuses on the design, synthesis, and self-assembly of supramolecular materials for applications in next-generation electronics and solar energy technologies. The project will explore how molecular-level control over structure and selfassembly can be used to tune electronic and photophysical properties. The successful candidate will design and synthesise functional organic molecules and investigate their organisation through supramolecular interactions (e.g. hydrogen bonding, π–π stacking, and metal coordination). You will study how controlled molecular packing influences charge transport, light absorption and emission properties of the systems. This project will provide the PhD candidate an excellent training opportunity in synthetic organic chemistry techniques, supramolecular self-assembly and photophysical analysis, in modern well-equipped laboratories. Name of primary supervisor/CDT lead: Dr Samantha E.
