About the Project All our projects, as well as the PhD itself at Nyenrode, are self-funded. Nyenrode Business University offers a part-time PhD trajectory for professionals who want to advance research on long-term value creation and the integration of sustainability into financial decision-making. How do companies ensure that they create value not only for shareholders, but for nature and society as well? As a PhD researcher, you will investigate how companies differ in terms of their long-term orientation and how that relates to their investment decisions and financial policies. Your research will combine qualitative and quantitative methods. For example, your research might include assessing investment decision announcements and/or analysing companies’ long-term value creation profiles using tools such futureproofing ratios. The part-time format allows you to combine academic research with your professional role, ensuring relevance and impact. You will receive guidance from experienced faculty and join a community committed to advancing sustainable finance practices.
